Here at Genesis, the
future parents are always the stars. This site in
particular was created with the purpose of gathering
your thoughts and memories so that you may help each
other face similar problems. We hope you will feel
understood and welcome in every one of your emotions. We
also hope you will leave these pages feeling relieved
and encouraged as to never abbandon hope. We have chosen
our patient's letters because we thought they could be
the most useful in this respect. You may also, if you
wish, add your own entry and share your experiences with
us and others.
Now, however, let us share something with you as doctors.
We know that infertility is an illness, although many collegues still refrain from seeing it as such. Nobody who's been through it can deny it 15 a grevious, sometimes painful,
problem. From this point of view, we could easily say it is more a sickness of the soul, than the body, especially considering the anxiety, the depression and the nervousness, the rage and the loneliness, which so frequently go
along. Can all this be faced and overcome? We believe it can. We do not mean to say that the problem is necessarily of a psychological or psychiatric nature. In fact, although our group is formed also of a professional, specialized psychologist, we believe that infertility is not necessarily the consequence of a psychological
unbalance. Primarily, it is Genesis concern to guide and help our patients as human beings. We believe that the therapy begins by creating a solid relationship of trust. Our doctors never coldly apply the techniques they have learned, but try to communicate full heartedly with their patients. Their smiles are full of understanding, faith and
openness. This is our own way of feeling medicine. And, grant us, our way of living. |
